Meet Isaiah

I’m Isaiah Smith, born and raised in the small town of Bonne Terre, Missouri. Fishing has been a cherished family activity for as long as I can remember and has always played a vital role in our family gatherings and traditions.

Although my love for fishing and the great outdoors waned during my time dedicated to playing football, it rekindled with great enthusiasm once my college career came to an end. Since that pivotal moment, all I wanted to do was fish and becoming a guide was truly the only way I could envision living out this passion of mine.

Since I embarked on this rewarding journey of guiding, my love for fishing has only deepened, but I’ve also discovered a newfound passion for helping others in this sport. There are few things I enjoy more than teaching someone how to fish and watching them thrive and succeed. I understand that success looks different for everyone, and I am confident that I can provide you with the very best experience on some of the best fisheries available to us.

A little more…

I am currently based in New Castle, Colorado, where I have the pleasure of running guided fly fishing trips along the beautiful and scenic waters of the Colorado River, the Roaring Fork River, the Frying Pan River, the Crystal River, and the Eagle River. Each of these rivers offers unique opportunities for anglers to experience the diverse and rich aquatic environments that Colorado has to offer.

I am very fortunate to guide for Los Locos Mag Bay during the winter months from October through January, primarily chasing striped marlin and rooster fish in the legendary waters of Magdalena Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

I will soon offer guided saltwater fly fishing trips from Florida to Louisiana where we primarily target species such as redfish, black drum, jack crevalle, and sheepshead, among others! These trips promise an exciting adventure on the water for both experienced anglers and beginners looking to enjoy the thrill of fishing in these vibrant coastal ecosystems.

This style of saltwater fly fishing is a great way to improve your skills and move into more saltwater fishing. If you like the challenge of sight fishing in shallow water, you'll enjoy it!
